Treatment sheets

You will have to create TWO treatment sheets. I have included sub headings below to help you create both treatment sheets. Also take a look at the Tulisa treatment sheet on Rachel and Brontes' blog. Click here to view post

Create you treatment sheet in WORD.

Treatment Sheet One - Concept and Video ideas.


Title page (include record label logo and contact details) This should be a full page!

Concept
- Give details about overall concept of your video. What message are you trying to convey about the song and music?

Narrative and performance
            - Discuss your ideas for

Lighting
- Discuss the use of lighting. What kind of lighting will you have in each scene and why?

Camera
-       Discuss creative camera work you will use and discuss why. Use screen grabs of examples and include web links to chosen videos.

Performance
- Give detail about dance/performance in your video. Will it be a choreographed routine, a solo or band performance etc. Again, use screen grabs to illustrate points.


Treatment Sheet Two - Style and Costume 

Try and include actual images of your band and artist.



Title page (include record label logo and contact details) This should be a full page!

Concept
-       Same as above previous treatment sheet.

Style
- Discuss the idea of the overall style of your artists and how it fits with the brand identity, which you are trying to create.

Costume
-       Detail examples of different costumes you will use in your video. Use images to illustrate your ideas.

Make up
- What make up ideas do you have for your band/artist? How will the make up fir with the concept. Again, use images to illustrate your vision.

  • Research and Planning: Wednesday 10th October

  • Complete filming: Friday 26th October (rough cut 16th November)

  • Complete edit of music video: Wednesday 28th November

  • Complete photo shoot: Friday 30th November

  • Complete digipak and advert: Wednesday 19th December

  • Failure to meet deadline will be referred to HoD for further submission

Video Mark Criteria

Level 4
The candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence in the creative use of most of the following technical skills:

- shooting material appropriate to the task set; including controlled use of the camera, attention to framing, variety of shot sizes and close attention to mise en scene

- editing so that meaning is apparent to the viewer and making selective and appropriate use of shot transitions, captions and other effects

- recording and editing sound with images appropriately.

Where a candidate has worked in a group, an excellent contribution to construction is evident.

Reminder of deadlines

Reminder of deadlines:

23rd November: Submission of 2nd Rough Cut

14th December: Submission of Final Edit of Music Video

Remember you must also have completed a photo shoot for your advert and digipak by 14th December as well.

18th January: Submission of advert and digipak
20th January: Rough evaluation questions
8th February: Submission of completed blog and digitally presented evaluation questions.

Here is a link to another well presented blog. The evidence of filming is particularly good, so make sure when you shoot you take a stills camera to capture the evidence. The group also created a Facebook page for their project. I know some of you have done this already -well done! Your Facebook page can be used to gather information from your target audience, gather feedback for rough cuts and rough drafts of your products and this can then feed into your evaluation and exam.
