9 Frame Analysis Guidelines



1. Choose a video and take 9 interesting still frames.
2. Choose your presentation method. Popplet, Prezi, Padlet, Word etc.
3. Comment on the following:
- Choice of mise en scene. Think about the colour palette, costume, props. What are the connotations of these?
- Composition. Use the appropriate camera terminology when describing the shot. Whay is the shot composed in this way (rule of thirds)? What are the connotations of the shot and how does this link to the narrative/concept of the video.
- Finally, can you apply and theory to your analysis? Genre/Audience?
